What we do with your email

Last updated 11 July 2026

The short version. If you join the waitlist, we store one thing: your email address. We use it to send you one email when Nightjar launches. We don’t share it, sell it, or add you to any other list. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we are

Nightjar is a product of Ranmont Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 17319397), with its registered office at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Ranmont Ltd builds and sells Nightjar, a paid macOS app, plus on-demand map packs (one-time purchases). Ranmont Ltd is the data controller for the waitlist. You can reach us at hello@nightjarmaps.com about anything on this page.

What we collect, and why

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising trackers, or analytics that identify you.

Our lawful basis

We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a); PECR for the email itself). You give it by joining the waitlist. You can withdraw it at any time, which is as easy as giving it.

How long we keep it

Until Nightjar launches, plus a short window afterwards to send the launch email. If you haven’t engaged by then, or if you unsubscribe, we delete your address. We don’t keep a waitlist indefinitely.

Who we share it with

Nobody, for marketing. Your address is stored on Cloudflare, which hosts our site and database on our behalf (a data processor). When we send the launch email we may use a reputable email provider to deliver it and handle unsubscribes; it acts only on our instructions and won’t use your address for anything else. We never sell your data.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

Email hello@nightjarmaps.com and we’ll sort it out. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Unsubscribing

Every email we send will include a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also just reply and ask, or email us directly.
